Introduction

LAN Scan is used to discover ALL devices attached to the Local Area Network (LAN) that your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch is connected via WiFi. After scanning, the application will query the device to discover more pertinent information about each device.

Using LAN Scan
Your current device is identified at the top of the screen with detailed information available (indicated by the accessory button ">") by selecting the device. The Internet Gateway or Router device is also identified when connected. Press the "Scan Network" button at the bottom of the screen to begin a scan of the WiFi network. Devices connected to your network will be identified by their host name or IP address.

Scanning Results
Once the scan is complete, details of each identified device can be viewed by selecting the device. Additional information includes MAC address and associated vendor of the network adapter for the device and information on how the device was discovered. Additionally, any bonjour services being broadcast by the device will be identified with further details available for each service. If the device is running NetBIOS, the device name and details are identified.

Scanning History / Saved Scans
A history of the recent scans is automatically saved and accessable by accessing the left page view from the results summary page. Any previous scans can be saved for further reference.

Mail Menu - Touch the menu button to access various features including, Email Scan - Send a email of the current scan, Settings - Allows you to change various scanning parameters. Subnet Scan - allows you to specify a subnet of the network to scan.
